Ron Paul supporters show yet again why online polls suck

This story describes how online polls are unreliable and how Ron Paul fans are using them to make him appear more popular than he really is.

Ron Paul supporters are nuts!!!

Ron Paul is a "Republican" candidate for president that has absolely no shot at becoming president...he's basically a Libertarian running as a Republican and there is no chance he's going to get any supporters from the Conservative base of the republican party...that's about all I can say about the man...his supporters are a different story.

Ron Paul suppoters are engaging in the tactics the Senjaya supporters did on American Idol ...only this isn't a stupid music competition!! Paul suppoters are flooding the comment sections, online polls, blogs sites, etc to make it look like there is more support for Ron Paul than there actually is...I can sort of see the 5th grade logic behind such a tactic, but honestly it is in no way going to be effective. (you can only vote once not 50k times)..It may get some people to check out Ron Paul and it may cause a few people to jump on the Ron Paul bandwagon, but it's just going to annoy the other 90%...

I could never support Ron Paul for his stances on certain issues, but I'd have a lot more respect for the man if he'd speak out against such pathetic tactics in his name...

And God said NO

I asked God to take away my pride. And God said "No".
He said it was not for Him to take away, but for me to give up.
I asked God to make my handicapped child whole. And God said "No".
He said her spirit was whole, her body was only temporary.

I asked God to grant me patience. And God said "No".
He said patience is a by-product of tribulations. It isn't granted, it is earned.

I asked God to give me happiness. And God said "No".
He said He gives me blessings, happiness is up to me.

I asked God to spare me pain. And God said "No".
He said suffering draws me apart from worldly cares and brings me closer to Him.

I asked God to make my spirit grow. And God said "No".
He said I must grow on my own. But He will prune me to make me fruitful.

I asked for all things that I might enjoy life. And God said "No".
He said He will give me life, that I may enjoy all things.

I ask God to help me love others, as much as he loves me.
And God said "Ah, finally you have the idea!"

American Dream

I saw the Casting Crowns concert tonight and it was awesome. It is always a great experience being around so many praising God at one time. The thing that I hope that I take from that experience is a better appreciation for God and for all that He's done for me and that I work to make my worship of Him stronger.

One song that stuck out in my head from the concert was "American Dream". The song is about a father that is working very hard to get his family all the material things that he thinks are important to them and important in life. In working for all these material things he has to spend all the time he has on work and not his family. In the end he may have gained the material values that he wanted but he sacrificed his family and what really matters most to attain it.

This scenario happens more and more in today’s society. A father in his attempt to gain everything that he thinks is important works long hours and spends all of his time on his work. While doing this he loses sight of the most important things. He misses his children growing up; he sacrifices time he could be spending with his wife. The most important thing (most of the time) that this father sacrifices is his relationship with God. Money won't buy you happiness and all the money in the world can't get you a place in heaven. We need to get back to the important things and not put so much stress on how much money or things we have. Yes money is needed for survival in today’s society, but you don't have to give up your whole life to earn all the money you need to be happy.

Here are the lyrics to the song American Dream:

All work no play may have made Jack a dull boy
But all work no God has left Jack with a lost soul
But he's moving on full steam
He's chasing the American dream
And he's gonna give his family the finer things

Not this time son I've no time to waste
Maybe tomorrow we'll have time to play
And then he slips into his new BMW
And drives farther and farther and farther away

So He works all day and tries to sleep at night
He says things will get better;
Better in time

And he works and he builds with his own two hands
And he pours all he has in a castle made with sand
But the wind and the rain are comin' crashing in
Time will tell just how long his kingdom stands
His kingdom stands

His American Dream is beginning to seem
More and more like a nightmare
With every passing day
"Daddy, can you come to my game?"
"Oh Baby, please don't work late."
Another wasted weekend
And they are slipping away

'Cause he works all day and lies awake at night
He tells them things will get better
It'll just take a little more time

He used to say, "Whoever dies with the most toys wins"
But if he loses his soul, what has he gained in the end
I'll take a shack on the rock
Over a castle in the sand

Now he works all day and cries alone at night
It's not getting any better
Looks like he's running out of time

'Cause he worked and he built with his own two hands
And he poured all he had in a castle made with sand
But the wind and the rain are coming crashing in
Time will tell just how long his kingdom stands
His kingdom stands

All they really wanted was You
All they really wanted was You
All they really wanted was You

If this song reminds you of yourself then maybe it's time to take a step back and focus on the imporant things in life!

God Bless!
Matt

Casting Crowns

Monday night I am going to watch a Casting Crowns concert and I am really looking forward to hearing them live. Casting Crowns are one of my favorite CCM bands and I think the sing very inspirational worship music. "Who am I", is one of the best Christian songs in my opinion and I have listed the words below. I recommend their music to everyone!

"Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name
Would care to feel my hurt
Who am I, that the Bright and Morning Star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart

Not because of who I am
But because of what You've done
Not because of what I've done
But because of who You're

Chorus:
I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
A vapor in the wind
Still You hear me when I'm calling
Lord, You catch me when I'm falling
And You've told me who I am
I am Yours, I am Yours

Who Am I, that the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love and watch me rise again
Who Am I, that the voice that calmed the sea
Would call out through the rain
And calm the storm in me

I am Yours
Whom shall I fear
Whom shall I fear
'Cause I am Yours
I am Yours"

The Voice of Truth is another great Christian song!

"Oh what I would do to have
The kind of faith it takes to climb out of this boat I'm in
Onto the crashing waves

To step out of my comfort zone
Into the realm of the unknown where Jesus is
And He's holding out his hand.

But the waves are calling out my name and they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The waves they keep on telling me
Time and time again "Boy, you'll never win!"
"You'll never win!"

Chorus:
But the voice of truth tells me a different story
The voice of truth says "Do not be afraid!"

And the voice of truth says, "This is for my glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will chose to listen and believe the voice of truth

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of strength it takes to stand before a giant
With just a sling and a stone
Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors
Shaking in their armor
Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand.

But the giant's calling out my name and he laughs at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The giant keeps on telling me
Time and time again, "Boy you'll never win!"
"You'll never win!"

Chorus

But the stone was just the right size
To put the giant on the ground
And the waves they don't seem so high
From on top of them lookin' down
I will soar with the wings of eagles
When I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus
Singing over me

I will chose to listen to the voice of truth"
